Houston Downtown Aquarium
The new Houston Downtown Aquarium in Houston, Texas, represents a dramatic departure from the research facility model adopted by similar attractions. The 7-acre complex houses 5 themed aquaria, including a Louisiana swamp, the Amazon River, and a shipwreck. Features and attractions include an observation tower, a 90-foot Ferris wheel, midway games, a helipad, and an acrylic train tunnel running through the massive shark tank. "The complexity, tight budget, and enormous scale of the project required a thorough evaluation of existing audio networking technologies. It was precisely this need for flexibility and ease of use that led us to select Ranes network processors. The use of multiple, interconnected RPM devices eliminated the need for an expensive proprietary bus. The combination of Drag Net configuration software and SR 3 remote controls really sold us on Rane. The SR 3 remote is a slick little package that allows you to lay out the user interface bitmaps any way you want, for any zone. Once programmed, the user simply needs to push a button and turn a knob. Rick Roberts, Chills & Thrills Inc. (CTI) Products Featured: |
